Here are a few of my personal symptoms that I have recorded.
- Endometriosis “flare ups” may occur from an imbalance of hormones.
- Imbalance of hormones can occur from certain foods you eat, such as soy. Soy can cause your hormones to fluctuate. Flax seed and animal products can also effect my hormones causing endo flare ups.
- Endometriosis has been found on every organ in the body, including the brain, and EXCEPT for the spleen. But mine is on my bladder and spine. No sign of endometriosis on my ovaries.
- There may be a connection between endometriosis and gut health. When I did a candida cleanse, I noticed significant improvement in my Endo pain.
- Caffeine causes significant Endo pain, especially in my lower back.
- Alcohol contributes to my endo pain if consumed consistently.
- Gluten creates an Endo flair up in my body in more ways than just abdominal pain. It causes short term memory loss and sensory slowness. I will see something, ex. someone reaching their hand out to me, and not realize what they are doing for at least 3 seconds.
Here are a few ways that I have tried to manage my pain. Disclosure: I am not a doctor, these are all just my personal beliefs and findings. Always talk to your doctor before making any changes in your diet. My experiences are my own. Your results may very.
- Start your morning with a peaceful and positive attitude. As hard as it is when you are in excruciating pain, it has helped me tremendously to be positive about it. God is going to work in me through this and do amazing things.
- Record reaction to every type of food. I have a reaction within 30 minutes if I have eaten something that my Endo does not like.
- I start my morning with hot water, lemon, and ACV to cleanse and detox. Also great source of Vitamin C.
- I stay away from Gluten, caffeine, soy, dairy, and red meat. I am actually practicing a vegan diet ( no dairy or meat).
- Staples in my diet include: black beans, lentils, brown rice, hemp seeds, chia seeds, berries, spinach, tomatoes, coconut milk, vegetable broth, nutritional yeast, turmeric, black pepper, garlic, ginger. If you are interested in seeing some of my recipes or what I eat in a day, let me know in the comments below!
- When I start to feel pain I try to increase blood flow in my lower abdomen and hips by doing yoga and lower abdominal exercises. If you are interested in seeing these exercises let me know in the comments below.
If you are someone who has endometriosis, then I’m here for you sister! We need to stick together and support each-other with kindness and love. If you know someone who has endometriosis, then I hope this helps you to understand a little bit more and I encourage you to support that person and fill them with as much positivity and love that you can!
With love,
Suzette
